2015 Descente Storm

Pros: Comfort is king

Cons: Replace the fleece panels with windstop and it would be perfect.

Review (inc pro's & con's):
I have been testing Descente ski wear since the mid 2000's and they yet to disappoint. The Storm Jacket, which is part of Descente's "Lifestyle Collection" is still a jacket that works well on the slopes as well at the Apre scene. Normally I will ski with a shell or some waterproof outer layer but on this day I chose to ski sans shell and brave it with just the Storm puffy. Well this stylish puffy did not disappoint. What was great about the Storm is that it felt like I wasn't wearing anything. Usually a shell or most other mid layers will be flapping in the wind and creating noise, the athletic fit of this Descente Storm stayed snug and comfortable due to the stretch fleece side panels The panels are the only part of the jacket that I would consider changing with maybe a Windstopper type panel that would keep the jacket a but warmer in the elements and specifically if it was windy but as a mid layer, it is perfect. I have also used the Storm as a mid layer and it is jsut as happy being used in that function. The "athletic fit" lends it's self to that use. The Storm integrates well with the BC shell that I reviewed last season and the new Haines shell that I will be reviewing very shortly.
