2014 Rossignol Sin 7 Ski

Pros: A (much) better S3

Cons: They could have still brought the tip down a bit more

The new Sin 7 is the replacement for the widely successful S3. The S3 was one of the more popular skis in the "Lite 98" segment, a segment that I billed for lighter for finesse skiers that were looking for a versatile 98 that was good off piste, trees and could still carve a turn if there wasn't any fresh show for a while. The shortcomings were that the elf tip and tail would flop around and any speed above even the most moderate ones and that because of the rises, the skis wheelbase (contact point fore and aft) were very short and the ski would have to be skied longer than usual to get any type of stability from it. The new Sin7 (an the rest of the new 7's) address these shortcomings by dropping the tail height dramatically and also bringing the tip down a bit too. The next evolution of this ski is now a better ski for a wider range of skiers that want to take the their skiing a little more seriously without loosing the playfulness that the old S3 brought to the game. The Sin7 is a great 7/8th scale Soul7 for that smaller skier that still puts a premium on maneuverability and playfulness.
