2014 K2 AMP Charger Ski

Posted

Pros: Very quick, stable at speed, plenty of float in powder.

Cons: None, but only for advanced and expert level skiers.

In the proper length this is a great all mountain ski, but only "IF" someone is a very good skier.  I am about 5'10 and 160lbs, I purchased a 179cm Charger last year at this time and used them all last season (2015 / 2016).  Note, I grew up skiing in the 1970's and 80's on long narrow skis (205cm), so by my standards this is a short ski; and, it is the widest ski I have ever owned.  I recommend a length that is +/-5cm of your height, the extra length combined with the somewhat wide tip gives plenty of float.  No, you will not be smearing turns in the powder, but you will have an extremely responsive ski that can handle extreme terrain.  I used the skis in both the Midwest and in Colorado, I was at Breckenridge in March when they had a huge storm and at A-basin in May right after they had a large storm, and the skis handled great in all conditions including deep powder, moguls, trees, steeps, etc.
