Starving for Salomon's 2012 Enduro XT800 Skis...Literally

Pros: Stability, Speed, Agility, Versatility and Power

Cons: Not suitable for novice or low-intermediate skiers

Several months ago I headed up to Mount Baker with the privilege of having a pair of Salomon Endurance XT800 all-mountain demo skis racked on my roof. For the past ten years I have skied on nothing but Salomon X-Screams. The first day I demo'd my X-Screams, I left the mountain that evening, went to the local ski store and bought four pairs, just in case they sold out or went off the market. Ten years later my X-Screams are now my rock skis and it was time for me to give in to a new pair. I am so stoked it did!   Salomon's 2012 Enduro XT800 are incredible! Mt. The dump truck of skis

Pros: Can be skied fast; nice topsheet?

Cons: Damp; slow edge to edge; overly stiff

Me: 32, 6', 165lbs, CSIA level 3 candidate Preferred skis: Head magnum, Head Integrale 009, Atomic Blackeye Ti Conditions tested: Whistler-Blackcomb on hardpack, firm off-piste conditions, and soft off-piste Length tested: 175cm   Let me just get my preferences out there: when it comes to skiing, I'm more of a gazelle than a rhinoceros. The Enduro xt 800 unfortunately feels more like a rhinoceros (or dump truck). It might be good for a "power skier", but not great for technical skiers who ski at a variety of speeds using a varying amount of force.    On-Piste  WB had mixed conditions, with some soft snow, hardpack, and even ice on different runs. ...
