2013 Nordica Patron Pro Boot

Pros: Extremely reactive

Cons: Bear to get out of when shell is cold

I have not owned a Nordica boot since the early 80's so going back to the big N was strange. For the past two seasons I have been in Nordica's cousin boot line Tecnica and specifically the Inferno 130 (and some time in the Cochise). Nordica has taken their Dobermann shell and removed the EDT plate and replaced it with a more compliant boot board which makes the boot lighter with minimal loss of rigidity.

The switch from the Inferno to the Patron Pro was seamless, the performance is very similar yet the fit out of the box was a bit better in the Patron due to a slightly lower instep and lower volume upper cuff. The liner in the two boots are nearly identical but the Nordica is slightly shorter.  With these boots being so similar in feel, I skied one day with one of each boots and after a run, I completely forgot that I had two different boots on.

I know reviews of boots are just a point of reference, no one has my feet, but if you are looking for a low volume fit that is not a race boot yet gives you a positive reaction on snow, add the Patron Pro to the list of boots you should try on.
