K2 Aftershock 2013 vs. 2012 vs. 2011
Pros: stability on groomers, even at speed; manouverability in bumps; entertaining in powder
Cons: no vices to date
This is as much a plea rather than a review of the 2013 model, but can someone advise when a new year's model is featured as to whether (apart from the graphics) the current ski differs or not from the previous year(s) model.
If there is no difference apart from graphics, then a link to the previous model(s) is very appropriate as the opinions and experiences on this will be just as relevant.
I have no experience of the new 2013 K2 Aftershock, but am extremely impressed with the 2011 model (181 cm), which I have skiied for 16 days so far. The skis are very stable on groomed runs, particularly at speed, but equally it is nimble in the bumps and in short turns. In powder, I found the skis to be much easier to control than anything else I have skied and very entertaining. This is my first skis with a rocker and this appears to make this a very entertaining ski.
The price I paid was USD 460 including bindings for the 2011 model in November 2011. I felt this was very good value, particularly, compared with list price and other brands.
For the record, I am 6 foot and weigh ~100 kg.
