Pros: Edge grip, ease of exit from turn to next
Cons: tuning ? will they screw things up ?
I demoed 8 pairs of different skis 2/2013. These are the only ones I am going to spend time reviewing. Simply amazing skis. I demoed all skis through same hill, same spots, same hard snow mixed with icy spots and icy crud. All I can say is Elan really got it down with these skis. I am not a racer, but expert level 44 year old who wants skis that can handle all day conditions, and I ski quite fast. They did flap around even at high speed and had no trouble making GS long radius turns at all. Yes, I had fun with them going slow and quick turns as well. I really liked how the upper ski acted during the turn and how they almost "popped" out of turn and ready for next with ease. My next on the list was K2's Bolts, which might be a bit better for speed, but also heavier and they required little more work to help them out of turn, these required almost no effort what so ever. These Elans acted so nice and will be my skis for next year, now I'm just waiting to see how they will improve these puppies for next season, and decide if I want to put the money into new ones or find these used beginning of the next season. Highly recommended. Elan really got this "left and Right" thing down and once you ski with these I think you will also immediately realize what it does and how it helps.
