Overview: Elan Amphibio Inspire Fusion
I will start by saying that I wasn’t sure what to expect with the Elan Amphibio line up, but I was ready to try it out. Let me first explain what the Amphibio line up is all about – Traditional camber on the inside edges of the skis with rockered tip and tail on the outside edges. Its an interesting concept to say the least.
The first thing I noticed was the stable feeling I got and nice quiet turn initiation, which made some nice transitions when playing around with different turn shapes. I never felt that I was going to get off kilter or go for an unexpected ride when I took them into the chopped up area on the edges, which left me feeling confident and “inspired” to see out more variety. The one area I was a little disappointed was when I was trying to catch Bud and Phil on the last run and just didn’t’ feel like I could get more speed out of them, which isn’t necessarily a down side because they were plenty fun and quick during(what I would consider) normal skiing.
