Pros: Versatile, fun ski that inspires confidence in a wide range of conditions
Cons: Not for someone who wants to stay on the groomers
The Dynastar Exclusive Legend Paradise is one of our favorite women's skis this season. With a little bias towards soft snow and off-trail skiing, it's a fantastic all mountain ski or even as a first powder ski, depending on the person.
The shape is becoming more common these days - a rockered tip, camber underfoot and a little rise in the tail. And it comes in at 98 mm underfoot - what we'd firmly call an all-mountain-ski out west for a male skier, but can fill more roles for women - an all-mountain ski for a more aggressive skier or a powder ski for a more cautious skier just getting off the groomed run.
One of our testers, Quincy, has been using it as a backcountry ski as well, where it's shape and flex handles the variable conditions you find beyond ski area boundaries.
One unique feature that really helps out is what Dynastar calls "Spring Blade Technology" where they essentially thin out the ski in the tip and tail, softening the flex at the extremities and lightening the swing weight while maintaining good grip and power in the middle of the ski.
