After the great experience I had on the Yvette 112 RP, I was eager to take its little sister Nina99 out for a test drive.  While the turn initiation was responsive, and the tenacity when exploring off piste was playful and fun, I missed the extra edge grip that other skis in this class seem to have.

Nina just seems happier when she has some rough snow to play in.

If you're looking for a high end mid fat that has a strong bias for off piste and powder, then this is the ski for you.

2013 DPS Nina99 Hybrid Ski

The Nina 99 is the women’s Daily Driver, redefined. The Nina 99 is set to become the new standard for all-mountain/all-condition shapes. Based on the award-winning Wailer 112RP platform, the Nina 99 exhibits similar versatility in a narrower package. The Nina 99 utilizes the Wailer 112's 3-D PaddleTech Geometry™—DPS’ original blend of rocker and variable sidecut. PaddleTech Geometry™ allows the skier to engage the Nina's slightly cambered 18m underfoot turn radius while charging g-loaded carves on harder snow. When the snow becomes mixed or soft, the skier draws on the gradually rockered paddle sections of the tip and tail to access longer, variable turn radii, slarves, and off-edge control. The Nina 99 gives you the best of on-edge and off-edge performance, and the ability to get creative in the most versatile 100mm underfoot package ever designed. WE REALIZED THAT THE TIME WAS RIPE to launch a Hybrid construction line that would incorporate DPS'sshaping heritage, carbon roots, and flex design with a more standard construction. We couldn't just build a standard fiberglass ski though. We have upped the ante by taking taking the industry standard fiberglass construction and adding two beefy carbon stringers, boosted the core with bamboo, added urethane dampening, and maintained the fastest, hardest graphite bases made. Last season we mated the Hybrid construction with Lotus 120's, Lotus 138's, and Wailer 105's. We have refined the flex patterns and the Hybrid line is ready to roll with a time tested, bomber construction and immaculate finishing. They are designed to exceed the highest performance offerings from other brands, while still accessible at great prices that allow you to build out your quiver. The Hybrid: Fiberglass+Carbon+Bamboo line is the ultimate value construction with thoroughbred roots.
