2013 Blizzard M Power FS

Pros: So smooth

Cons: Loose the demo looking binding, not becoming of a ski in this price range.

I likened the out going M-Power to a BMW X5 4.8Si, an SUV that could embarrass the vast majority of sports cars out there. The NEW (and improved) M-Power is now a flip core based ski taken from their big mountain series. Blizzard does carry over the oil dampening and carbon fiber rails from the old ski (and other Power series models) . What has happened in the transformation to flip core was smoothness and versatility. Where the older M would lock tenaciously into a turn and not let go, the new 8.5 has the same ability but with a softer entry and exit and just makes the whole process smoother. Where in the old series, I preferred the regular 8.7 over the M, the new series I have a slight bias to the M-Power over the 8.5. What I like about the new M-Power is that it is a true high end powerful ski that you can still relax on and play with.

2013 Blizzard M Power FS

The M-Power is an ultra high performance, all-mountain ski that is incredibly easy to use. This ease of use is the direct result of Blizzard's new IQ Power System, which integrates a binding system with an active damping system. IQ Power itself incorporates two pre-cambered carbon fiber bars that are fixed in the tip and tail of the ski, and are connected to a bi-directional, oil-damping piston under the binding. This technology actively adds energy and rebound to the ski when it flexes, which results better performance with less effort for the end user. IQ Power simply does the work for you.
