Cons: Only the MX88 is a better choice

Sorry, but I cannot think of this ski w/o thinking of its big brother MX88. On that note, where the MX78 has an ace up it's sleeve is the option of adding Kastle's fantastic KTi plate binding. The billet aluminum Kti system is one of the few race bread plates that does not neuter a ski at slow speeds but it can enhance the ski ay any speed.

Waist 78mm: Adapts to varying slope conditions; carving with high edge angles on groomers to floating in light powder off-piste. The running surface gains about 18% in comparison with a classic on-piste ski. Ski- geometry: The DUAL RADIUS PISTE makes the MX78 a responsive turner. The narrower turning radius in the shovel creates agile steering characteristics. The tail possesses a bit wider turning radius. With a different turning radius in the tip and tail,this construction equips the MX78 for all on-piste variations. The sidecut geometry creates precision performance. Wood core: The MX78 delivers a versatile performance as a result of its mixed core of ash and silver fur. This combination offers weight savings without compromising stability. Features: With a 0.5mm titanal base sheet and a 0.5mm top sheet; the stability is optimized and weight is reduced. The Hollowtech at the shovel delivers further weight reduction. Binding system: Taking the basic concept of a racing binding Kästle replaced most parts that are normally constructed out of steel with aluminum to achieve a maximum weight reduction. Wear protection: A 45°aluminium bevel at the surface of the ski, distributes impacts and protects against mechanical wear. .
