Pros: Stable and forgiving. Carves lines through hardpack as well as pow.
Cons: Tips can chatter, topsheet could be more durable.
I stepped onto these after I bought a set of Atomic D2 VF 82's earlier in the year. Those are now collecting dust in the closet. The Coombacks are so go at so many things. A surprisingly good carver for being less stiff and moderately wide. A great floatation ski in powder without being obnoxiously fat. A forgiving ski when you wish to dial it back two notches and cruise. Hell, it even handles icy patches reasonably well, abet with a little chatter from the tips.
My Atomic D2's are great, but I absolutely love the K2's. It's like comparing my sportbike to my car. Going fast is fun. But it ain't everything.
