Pros: Turn initiation
Cons: Um. Gotta be able to tell left from right.....
With dimensions of 125/74/104, the revolutionary Elan Waveflex Amphibio 14 is all about carving.
I've skied this innovative carver on several occasions on both hard and soft surfaces. The recurring theme is 2012 Elan Amphibio WaveFlex 14 is a fantastic ski.
More on the Amphibio design:
The inside edge is characterized as traditional camber while the outside edge employs early rise rocker in the tip and tail. (See the difference in the contact points in the image below). This combination works very well, you have grip on your inside edge and the outside edge (inside ski), by virtue of the early rise doesn't hook or grab. The result is a very smooth confident transition from edge to edge with easy turn initiation.
This ski loves to carve and makes it very easy to get that inside ski way up on edge avoiding the dreaded A-Frame stance. The Staff at www.SuburbanSkiAndBike.com would highly recommend this ski to any advanced to expert skier who wants to pick up their carving game a notch or two and ski like a PSIA Rock Star.
