Pros: Low Volume Fit
Cons: Low Volume Fit
Fit: I will not go too in depth here at this time due to the liner in this pair is a pre production. Again being in an Intuition for the past decade plus, I had minimal hot spots, the only one that gave me marginal discomfort was in the right boot and the top of my instep. I think this can be easily remedied with a cuff alignment and a few minutes with some fit aids.
On Snow: Power is the first word that comes to mind. Conditions were spring like corduroy but as soon as I laid up the Kastle FX84's, that I was skiing, on edge, I felt the difference in the power of this boot over my Kryptons. The boot felt more precise and accurate than the Kryptons.
Summery: The Scorpion is a completely new series of boots for Dalbello, a series that they expect to bring them to the top echelon in race boots. While the SF is the "all mountain" version of this series, it should be on your short list if you are shopping for a 110-130 flexed 98mm boot.
Personal view: Will this boot pull me away from my beloved Kryptons? I am not sure yet, I plan on skiing the Kryps today, then I will decide. But with a little bit of tweaking, there might be a 4 buckle boot in my future. Sacrilege, I know.
