Pros: Crud Buster, Picks up Speed Fast, Stable at Speed

Cons: A bit heavy for maneuverability purposes

I have been very happy with this ski. It is very well suited to my skiing style. I like to cruise down groomers and this ski is well suited to that task. The ski is a bit heavy which lends to its picking up speed fast, but makes it a bit difficult to make quick turns through moguls and trees compared to other skis.

The ski is good at powering through rough conditions. I have noticed it can be sketchy at times when skiing over Eastern ice; My biggest complaint would have to be the durability of the ski. After a season and a half there are several chunks of top sheet that have fallen off after only about ten days of skiing.

Its weight and relatively narrow waist make it sink into powder with ease. You really have to fight the skis to keep from sinking in.

Pros: Grips well on hard pack snow

Cons: Not the ski to use if you ski powerder frequently

Picked these skis up last 4th July at Mammoth as used demos for $350.Hardly used, it is not the type of ski typically used for usual Mammoth conditions.  Good ski for hard pack snow on groomers. Grips well through the icy patches. I need a wider ski for the conditions where there may be any powder, but for $350 it was a good purchase for cold hard pack days.

Description:

A relatively skinny profile and vertical ABS sidewalls help the K2 Apache Crossfire Alpine Ski with Marker Piston M1 12 Binding carve the groomers like a ginsu knife, while remaining versatile enough for all-mountain riding. K2's Mod Monic construction uses a secondary elastomeric core under key parts of the ski to dampen unwanted vibration without increasing weight. ABS sidewalls give the Apache Crossfire Ski vice-like edge grip in firmer snow conditions, which help you arc smooth, high speed turns on the groomers. Titan Metal Laminate and the Marker M1 binding underfoot ensure that every bit of power you put into these skis reaches the snow. Whether you love groomers or just want a ski that can rip the entire mountain, this K2 midfat delivers.
