Pros: Grip and edge hold
Cons: stiff in the soft snow.
I purchased these skis to replace a set of Volkl 5 stars that were showing there age. I am 6ft and 190lbs and bought the 175s. I have now skied them east coast, Colorada and Tahoe in conditions ranging from east coast hardpack to 18 inches of light powder and mixed icy crud.
The ski might have a top end on the groomers but I havnt found it. It will hold an edge in a hard race turn like it is glued to the mountain no matter the snow conditions. Get forward, lay it on edge and lean and weight as far as you dare. Its an awesome experience.
The ski will work off piste in powder and the bumps but its not really a natural. Its stiff and heavy. Switching off the power switch does soften the tips but it is still heavy. I usually just leave the switch on all the time as alot of runs seem to end up back on piste eventually and I want to rip the lower mountain.
I think the ski is maybe an 80/20 frontside backside ski. If your used to working a narrow ski off piste you can maybe stretch that backside potential a bit.
