2009 Salomon Rocker Ski

100% Positive Reviews

Just a copy of one of my old reviews into the new system :

Eye Candy:

Bottom Line: Stop sucking and buy these skis. THEY KILL IT.

Groomers: Fail. Park and riding is fine. Carving requires heel weighting.

Light epic bottomless pow: Too big, seeks surface and gets weird. Use a skinnier ski, get face shots.

Heavier pow, sluffed snow, wind affect, sun affect, crust, mank, and everything else soft and virgin: Amazing! They turn effortlessly! Feels like cheating! WILL NOT STUFF A TIP! EVER!!!

Flex: Soft to stiff. Rocker makes it hand flex softer

Trees: Very nice, turns fast. Faster you go the quicker the ski turns

Hucking: Stomp-a-*******-licious. Turn the second you land (ie huck into no fall zone/high consequence areas with confidence)

Crud: Good, better than expected, not the best. Not what the ski is for.

Weight: A crapload, 'specially with dukes. Ugh.

Skinning: Breaking trail = regular skinning, almost. Tip stays up

Bumps: Suckage.

Construction: Butt plug = Why? who knows. Cap is disappointing. Otherwise only time will tell (note from end of 09 season. Still in very like new condition)

Sonny Bono Factor: High, Watching the huge missile shaped tips flap around is so much freaking fun you may die.

Notes: Give them time, I needed like 2.5-3 days to figure them out.

2009 Salomon Rocker Ski

Salomon designed the Rocker for one thing flotation. This powder ski's rocker design and massive dimensions mean you can't help but plane on top of soft snow. Double-wall monocoque construction not only makes the Rocker burly, but transfers power to the edge when you hit bottom in steep terrain. Although it's built for cold-smoke powder, this fat, floaty ski's full wood core gives you the power to bust through gnarly crud too. Although we wouldn't exactly recommend these skis for hard snow, the Rocker's traditional sidecut gives you enough control to make it down the cat track for another powder lap.
