2009 Head Ski Mojo 90

Pros: Excellent mix for groomers and Pow. With the 90 underfoot they did really well in Japan. Also had plenty of fun with a bit of park.

Cons: If it becomes Icey, the edges seem to have real trouble putting in long hand turns.

These have been the first pair of dual tip skis that I have bought.
After having them recommended by a boot fitter (also friend) who spends a fair amount of time overseas, he believed these would be a good mix for Australia, New Zealand and Japan condition. (These all vary a heap)
I have been using them for 2 northern trips to Japan and 1 trip to Hotham in Aus and recently to Queenstown in New Zealand.
It took me a few days to warm to them however after sorting them out, they have been really friendly to use all over the mountain. I enjoy off-piste a lot more then park and these skis have suited me.
Would recommend them to intermediate-advance skiers who have little experience in purchasing new skis.

Pros: light and quick, reasonable edge hold for Western ski

Cons: Don't ski behind me - twin tip throws up the snow

I've got the Mad Trix Mojo version (I think 2004 or 2005), and the $650 included the bindings too.  I made the mistake of demoing these at Alta mid-winter, and had to have them pronto.  I demoed Pocket Rockets the same day, and thought they were a similar feel without being as floppy as the blue noodles.  They have enough float for most powder days, and are worthy in moguls.  Not the best units for crud busting, but a vast improvement over previous skis I've owned in that regard.  They'll hold an edge in hard snow, but only if you keep them sharp.  As mentioned by DoWork, they are a great all around ski.  If you've got only a one-ski quiver for Rocky Mountain skiing, consider this one.

Pros: Stiff with great edgehold on firm snow/ice, wide enough for fun in the freshies, great tree ski!

Cons: Um... None really, unless you stay on-piste on the groomers all the time.

The Mojo 90 is an all-around outstanding ski.  I am 5'9" and 165lbs and I ski the 176cm version- perfect!  I mounted them right on the line and couldn't be happier.  I have the '08 version (blue & white with wave crashing) and it is my go-to everyday ski here on the East coast.  Stiff enough to hold a great edge on ice and hardpack yet wide enough to rip the stashes in the trees and those fresh days.  In short, if you love to hit EVERYTHING on the mountain, this is the ski for you.  The upturned tail lets you wash out the back end in tight trees and steep spots, but when you set 'em straight and let 'em run, they are burly enough to take everything in stride.  Great crud buster.  It is really a fun ski with a ton of pop.  Not super light but as I said before it is designed to just do EVERYTHING.  Not the best carver for the frontside, not a deep snow pow floater, but if you like to warm up on a trail, then hit the trees or back bowls, I really can't recommend this ski enough.  Fresh snow under a foot is where this ski is most at home.  I have had many days on them in storms and I can tell you there's few skis that can blend on-piste versatility with off-piste fun and performance the way the mojo 90 does.  On the frontside, I've had many people I let use them say "I can't believe these have an 89mm waist, the width just disappears once you start moving!  If you're looking for a dedicated race ski, look elsewhere- the same if you're looking to float on bottomless.  If you want a ski that will allow you to maximize your fun factor on a varied conditions day, this is your ski!!!   I would place this as an Advanced or Expert ski, but not too burly for those intermediates looking to step up.  Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions, I'd be glad to answer them for you!
