2009 Elan 777

100% Positive Reviews
Rated #88 in Carving Skis

Pros: Cost (now), versatility

Cons: Scratches show

These were designed as all-mountain skis, but are rather thin in the waist by 2011 standards. That said, I haven't had any problem keeping up with friends with super-fat skis in 4-8 inch powder and crud. Other than that, I'm not really qualified to say much; I skied with 90's sticks before these and don't have anything modern to compare them to. I feel they have improved my skiing on black groomers, and they cut through the trees very well. I will probably look for my next pair to me more in the 100-waist range to float a bit more, but these will certainly serve me for days where I'll be doing more groomers.

As they are readily available new-old-stock (in 2012) for very little money, I'd highly recommend them as a versatile carver+a little off piste.
