Pros: crud busting, corn chewing, chopped up afternoons
Cons: ok in deep snow, not a full fat wide ski, somewhat inbetween
this was the 2nd half of a two ski quiver. other skis are volkl tigershark 10s as my hardpack carving skis.
This are an excellent do everything ski. I'd take both pairs in the car and if it was groomed and perfect, i'd hit the carvers. if it was afternoon and all chopped up, id use these. a couple of days i took these out when i should have taken the carvers and you know what, they hold great on hardpack and ice. i was very surprised. i could carve them pretty well in the groomers also. very surprising. i haven't tried the gotma or mantra yet, i'm told they are similar but have the benefits of being wider. if you aren't going up to 100cm, this ski is for you. i did run these in a waist deep day and it was too deep for them. i ran them in a few knee deep days and these things rocked big time as you had some float but still felt like you had normal sized skis on. didn't like them much in hardpack off piste powder, that was a weak spot for them.
very curious to hear from someone who has these and also the mantra/gotma to compare with. going to use these as all mountain do everything for volentering next season.
