Head Jimi 2010 - Mounting position thoughts?

Mainly aimed at Bob Peters (as I remember reading he will be sporting a pair of Jimi's this year) , but open to all suggestions

I've just picked up a pair of Head Jimi 181's with the Mojo 15 binders.... Any thoughts on the mounting position?

I've always tended to mount in the traditional position, but this is my first rockered ski and wondered how different they may ride when mounted forward towards the freestyle point??

Rushed the order through so they can get a run on this Canadian storm snow this weekend

I probably won't be of huge help here.  I was planning to have mine mounted boot arrow to ski arrow.  I won't have them mounted for probably another month yet so I can't even give you any personal impressions.  When I tried the Jimi last February, I was on the marks and I thought the ski felt just fine.

I've sent your question off to my area rep.  I'll post his answer as soon as I get it, but he might not get back to me for a couple of days.

Here's the response from my area guy:

I wouldn't go forward for all mountain skiing. The recommended
mounting points are pretty good. If its going to be used strictly for
powder you could even go back a cm or two....

I ended up mounting them right on the "Freeride" line.... and then took them to Sunshine Village on Sunday

They were in their element in the shin deep freshies on Goats Eye... Great fun, easy to get balanced on, felt light & easy to turn, easy to scrub speed if needed, the small rocker kept them up top..... A+  I now want to take them deeper!!

Once things chopped up, I was suprised at how they didn't change too much.... they easily bounce off the bigger piles and dont get to caught up in other tracks.....  Speed is your friend here too, and the Jimi's feel very very stable at speed (and they want to go faster!!)....

On the groomers the Jimi's are FAST!.... nice big turns on open runs, not too much chatter..... If you hit any little jumps they fly, but have a very stable landing.

All in all I had so much fun on the Jimi's.... I wouldn't want to use them on hard-pack days, but that's not what they're designed for.... as soon as there's fresh (no matter how deep) they'll be my first choice!

As for the graphics, I really didn't like them when I first saw them online, but in person they look great and lots of looks and questions in the lift-line with plenty of positive feedback..... I think I have found at least three different images in there so far! (Face, chicken, etc...)

Their next outing will be at the Kicking Horse opening, so will be able to get them on some steeper terrain and see how they go then....

really good to hear how the jimi`s ski as i too have bought the same ski im going to whistler in march and as i live in the uk not much chance of any powder so its great to hear how they perform in other conditions aswell as powder

Glad that they ski well cause them there skis are FUGLY......

You'd be suprised.... In the flesh, on the snow, they look pretty good....  And lots of others thought so too......

i was going to be really smart and try and say something like what do you know about skis fool,but after seeing your ski collection errrm i better shut up .You are qualified to say such things ,but i do really like the skis look and the price swayed it for me only paid £330 for them $540 to you and that was with bindings new so they were a bargin anyway.

I like the looks of the Jimi's too. Tried them in Big Sky.
Hate to dissappoint, but for me the looks were the best part.

what do you think of the skis ,im of to whistler in march love to know what you think of them
