Snowbasin or Alta?

I am going to Utah over Chrismas/New Years for 6 days and I am staying in PC for the nightlife.  For a day or two, would Alta or Snowbasin be better?  I am an advanced but not expert eastern skier and I like steep groomers and ungroomed. Also,  which would be less crowded?

Thanks

there is no reason to go to alta over snowbasin. well unless you like to traverse to ski mogul fields then alta is awesome in that regard.

Snowbasin is less crowded, has a better mountain layout, better lifts, less altaitude, more untracked, less competion for powder, much better on mountain food, and its not racist vs snowboarders.

Snowbasin opened yesterday with basically 1 run & 2300' vertical from the top of Needles gondola on machine made snow.  The Little Cat beginner chair is also open at the bottom of the mountain.  Opening day coverage is much better than the last 2 seasons.  Let's hope we get a couple of big storms before Christmas.

Yeah that are going to need more cover than just some man made stuff.

"racist vs. snowboarders"

I've seen this before, and it's about the dumbest thing I've seen on the net. Racism has to do with race, not your chosen sliding gear - simple, no?

OK, calling something racist is supposed to be the epitome of scare tactics to chill the debate, but this is just pure dumbness.

Anyway, I love the fact that Alta (and MRG and even DV) are boarder free, and consider it one of the attractions and positive features about going to those places.

your racist vs snowboarders then ;) I guess you ski on straight skis since you like skier only places so much?

FYI dont take yourself yourself or me too seriously.
