Bachelor party in Vail, Co...any suggestions?

Hello all,
I'm going to be having my bachelor party in Vail in February and wanted to know if anyone had any info on something I can't miss/good ideas for bachelor parties. So, lets hear it!!

Ummm, I don't lower my expectations. First of all, Vail trumps what I grew up skiing (Kirkwood) by a ton. Secondly, all of my friends that used to go skiing with me at Kirkwood will be joining me. Third, I'm not going to get a stripper because i'm not into that. 4th, i'm a medicinal marijuana patient. I doubt we are going to have trouble having a splendid time. Thanks though.

Well your are not going to be having a Bachelors Party now are you? No Strippers, WTF? Now that is a cornerstone of a bachelors party. Grow a pair. Your not even married yet and your already on a leash. Jebus....

You have heard my thoughts in regards to strippers. All good bachelor parties consist of plenty of alcohol, good people, the rest is up to your budget. Either way its pretty hard to mess up a bachelors party when your with your closest group of friends.

By the way............Congrats on getting hitched.

Things I learned on this thread:

1. Vail thrumps Kirkwood (by a ton).
2. Once your wife to be allows you to have a threesome, strippers are not fun anymore.
3. You always have a splendid time when you are on medicinal marijuana

i have a special place in my heart for kirkwood (especially as a skibomb pass owner for 5 years), but it just seemed like the snow was so much lighter, getting to the mountain was soooo much easier (the hike from the highway on a busy day will dampen anyone's spirits), so many lifts are soooo much faster in Vail, and the amenaties, restaurants, and shops REALLY put the Kirkwood community to shame. Don't get me wrong, I love Kirkwood, but if i could ski vail the rest of my life, or vail and kirkwood the rest of my life, i'd have a hard time choosing kirkwood. ever.

yeah, when you luck out with a special woman like this, paying women that would probably jump into bed with us anyway seems like a huge waste of money. don't you think? also, instead of hiring a stripper, my fiance told me that she would be down to get the hottest call girl around to have a good time with right before our wedding. also, constantly holding out dollar bills to entice a woman hang around you and act like your cock is the best thing on the planet and tempt her into "earning" that money is a total turn off to me. every time i've left a strip club (3 times), i've felt worse when leaving, lonelier when i get home, and i can't wait to get home to wash my hands. forking out hundreds of dollars for blue balls is idiotic in my opinion.

Guys, you have taken this way off course from the OP questions.

Glad you are picking a ski party as your bachelor's gig. Vail's probably going to have a decent amount of snow then, and you might get lucky and get a big dump. Don't know how much your gang is going to want to party vs ski, but there's plenty of terrain to go after in Vail.

I can't advise you on the party scene if that's what you are looking for. If that's what you want, then bring your credit card, as it all is pretty expensive.

What kind of terrain do you folk like to ski? I might be able to point you to a few things there if you let me know what you like and your ability. And how many days are you there.

i know from my group of friends that we will be on or around blue sky basin as much as possible to stay away from as much of the crowds as possible. none of us skill wise are above an 8 out of ten and none are below a 6 out of 10. we all ski everything except bumps, as 95% of my group are snowboarders (i'm way too cool for skiers). just kidding, all of them made fun of me for wearing a wonderful columbia one-piece that i got for $75 bucks at tj maxx and kept me bone dry for 7 years. anywho, that's us.
i was more or less looking for sweet places to go or just sweet bachelor party ideas that i hadn't thought of.

BSB actually gets pretty crowded. You might try various lines in Sundown Bowl. It's quite open, and as long as you don't go to far around the West side, not steep. There's also a lot of runs on the front side that are overlooked because almost everyone is trying to work their way through the back bowls to BSB. Give those a try as well.

Can't help you on the party stuff; I'm an old fundy dud.

I attended a bachelor party at Vail a few years ago. We stayed in East Vail, at the Vail Racket Club.

Highlights, besides skiing:

- Dinner at the Minturn Country Club (not really a CC), where you grill your own steaks, and we made the groom drink a glass (not shot) of Jaeger.

- Partying at a couple of the bars (don't remember the names, but I feel like one was called "The Club" or something generic) where some of the others in our party took home Cougars.

It was one of the tamer bachelor parties I've been to, but also one of the most fun, as most of us were expert skiers, and we had great snow.

now we're gettin to it. nice work. i've heard of minturn country club being a decent place and fun. also, we will be staying right next to the raquet club, just a half mile farther east.

any considerations to Cat Skiing? Pricey (but offsets lift price) but if it's in the groups budget. Haven't a clue towards who offers (let alone if it's worth it) in the area other than the google links .... ????

that would be amazing and unforgettable, but waaaaaay out of our price range i think. also, is the 375 a full day rental on the cat? i'm not sure how this works.

Good group of outgoing guys can have fun anywhere.

Enjoy yourself and just let the chips fall. Wonder around and hit a few bars within a few minutes of chatting up with some bartenders you'll know all the hot spots and what days to hit them.

When I skied Vail a buddy and I hit a few bars(can't think of any of the names as I didn't really pay attention) after skiing and we had fun. Group of guys hitting the town is always a good time.
