Hard choice Elan 82ti or Head Monster 82

Please help, advanced skier, Ontario with trips out west looking for a great all mountain ski thinking of the Elan 82ti or the Head Monster 82? Also like the Rossi 82 but wondering if the Carbon is not enough ski for my 175lbs weight and speed desire? Any suggestions

I have not skied the the Elan, but have the Head 82, amd own a pair of similar 88's, I did ski the Rossi 82 carbon, and didn't find it much softer than an Monster 82, but did find it a more a bif fat carver than a crud/mixed surface ski.  What I did decide on was an 82ti that is stiffer than an Head 82, but I am also 215lbs, and needed the extra stiffness.
For a east coast ski it would be better than the Monster 82.

Thanks, yes i really like the looks of the Rossi carbon ski but not sure if the Ti version is better for the more aggressive speed demon? Going to Big Sky in beginning of Jan so no time to wait and demo in Ontario as it may be Christmas before we get any snow and then all the deals will be gone. 
 Does anyone out there know if the Carbon can be skied Hard and fast on groomers? Have skiied on way too short Atomic M:EX for about three years now and can't stand lugging those tanks around even at 155cm. I am told that at my height weight and ability i should be on skis in the 170+ range?

 I live in Toronto, do most of my skiing here but ski 10+ days out west. Was on my new Peak 78s (177cm).

The Peak is slightly softer than the Monster. Conditons were hard, wind-blown boilerplate, icy patches and groomers. The ski was grat. Head skis reward the agressive skiers -- no surprise when you consider their racing heritage. 

If you think the Monster may not be stiff enough, consider the Chip. The chip makes the ski stiffer when you ski it harder.

Finally, Head are still made in Austria, I think Elan are made in China.

Dawg wrote a great review on the Elan's over in the review forum. There should be one of the current XTi (which is a bit in between last year's XTi and Ti in stiffness) and also one of last year's Ti a bit deeper in the forum.

Sad to see how unpopular the brand is across the ocean though. There's only one thing Elan is bad at these days: marketing.

The 82ti is out of production: the Xti replaces it this year.  Great ski!  The 82Xti is as good as anything on the market; most all  of the brands have great skis; different flavors, but pretty much all ski well.  One or the other may be more suited to your skiing style and weight.  The 82ti is also great, a touch softer and heaver than the current Xti. Last year's Xti was a beast and for bigger skiers only, they have made the ski more accesable now.  Between the Monster/Peak 82 (same skis) and the 82Xti; the Elan definitely has more pop and life to it. The Head is quite damp, stable and smooth, but lacking energy.  It feels a bit more like a muscle car, the Elan a bit sportier, but not too flighty. 

Elan is made in Slovenia!  China is K2.  Elan probably makes more skis than any other company, as they do a ton of contract manufacturing for other big-name brands.  True, their marketing really leaves something to be desired, but they make great skis, if you can find them.  I would be skiing an 82Xti this year if they hadn't sold out early, and I wouldn't trade my 1010 for any ski out there.  They usually get the "great ski that nobody is talking about" award, unless you read Ski Press or Realskiers, where they are almost uniformly praised every year.
