HELMET CAMS: ANYONE HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH THEM?

HELMET CAMS.  How good is the GoPro advertised here on this site (I didn't see anyone review it in the previous posts).  Does anyone have experience with it?  Who makes the best ones?  Where is the better place to position the cam (helmet or chest)?  Any help would be appreciated regarding the new equipment that is out there, since the models seemed to have changed over the past 6 months..

You may want to check out http://www.helmetcameracentral.com/ for various helmet cam options and comparisons.

Head mounting is often preferred over chest mounting:
* More natural POV on head...chest is often pointed away from where you are looking.
* Better control over what's "in frame"
* You'll get more "scene" with camera higher off snow

If anyone is still looking at this post, see:  http://www.skinet.com/ski/gear/2009/11/toolbox-helmet-cams   .  I'll buy one and write a review on it sometime in Jan.

Viosport has been making amazing gear in the head cam dept for years and they got a well developed pruduct. I've got some footage from an older model that was pretty good for its time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hvdw9I-jXuY

I was using the GoPro HD Helmet Hero on the weekend. I got it from Launch Helmet Cams http://www.launchhelmetcams.ca

The video quality is awesome. Starting/stopping with mitts on was a bit of a pain but I got used to it after a while. Battery life is heaps better than the original model.

From what I've seen the GoPro, VHoldR and VIO cameras are the best by far.

Have used Vholdr ContourHD extensively, both skiing and dirt bike riding.  Works great, video is awesome (full widescreen HD, 720p or 1080p).  See http://vholdr.com/node/65608 for an example.
