Gertsch Plate Bindings?????

Anyone ever heard of them.  They were in the freebee bin at the Bozeman Ski Swap on a pair of Fischer Superglass that looked like they were from the late-late 60s or early 70s.  I almost grabbed them but I have enough old trash in storage.

Sure. They were contemporaries of the more common Americana plate bindings with a differing application of the same principle.

You didn't grab 'em! Gee the price wasn't right???

If you want them let me know by noon today your time & I'll see if they are still there.  (Most likely they are.)

There's also some Look 99s on a pair of $5 skis if you're looking for a set.

I'm fine, but thanks for asking. I assume no Spademans? Those I WOULD take.

I would have spotted Spademans right off.  It is interesting that all the freebee skis with Salomon Driver bindings were taken and most of the Looks were gone, also, but most with Markers were still there.

Painful memories of these things!  They were big around teh mid 70's and were almost impossible to stay in if you skied them at all hard.  IIRC the tension setting was adjusted by removing washers, even with them all out they released to easily.  Vielhaber, the Scottish ski manufacturer,  used to fit all his demo skis with them which we also used for the demo team.  Highly embarassing (and hard to promote the skis!) when you found yourself skiing along on just a couple of plates under your boots and the skis left behind

Ah! The ski swap was last weekend.  Crap.  I missed it again.  Oh well.  I have enough stuff I reckon.  Could have used some new ice skates though.
