Quiver or Bag?

Wikipedia!  Really, the encyclopedia of opinion and questionable facts!  So if quiver is no good (despite the math), bag brings visions of golf, arsenal is to violent and fleet makes us think of trucks, what is the right term?  How about, "ski collection"?

"Ski Collection" sounds old like a collection of stamps or old records..... good for your collection of old ski's but not the ones you use every day.....

Are you sure you want your skis as independent contractors?

Not so!

Main Entry:1stock·pile

Pronunciation: \ ˈ stäk- ˌ pī(-ə)l\

Function: noun

Date: 1872

:a storage pile: asa:a reserve supply of something essential accumulated within a country for use during a shortageb:a gradually accumulated reserve of something

Problem here is that current skis are not "reserve".....but I do like the thinking

Main Entry:1cache

Pronunciation: \ ˈ kash\

Function: noun

Etymology: French, from cacher to press, hide,

Date: 1797

1 a :a hiding place especially for concealing and preserving provisions or implementsb :a secure place of storage
2:something hidden or stored in a cache

The last thing we are doing with our skis is hiding them.....

Stockpile is good, but if I say rack one more time, I think I'll have reached critical repeat factor so that my response answer will be the de facto correct response. I've learned in other threads that repetition is a generally recognized method of determining who is right.

Some people keep their skis in a pile.

If you can't ski, do tricks!

"Stable" has something to be said for it. Our skis rest there, we choose one and take them for a ride.

Then, and this is just a personal preference, I just like the word "covey". There is a certain warmth to the word.

"Brothel", I have some problems there. Someone can walk in from off the street and for money take out my skis and abuse them. I don't think so.

However, "HAREM"  might just be appropriate. They're just hanging out on the rack hoping to be chosen by ME for a ride today! We might be on to something here.

Telluride opens tomorrow at nine AM. My Harem awaits in anticipation.

Ken

(oops, sorry Ghost, you beat me to it. Great minds and all of that)

Aside from quiver, I sometimes refer to my fleet of Volants, but given they are close to battleship gray, I suppose it's a natural.

I have to agree, I will just stick to saying "my skis".

I tried to use the term "carpet bag" but Quiver has a nice ring to it, after all a girl has to build a proper quiver if she expects to have snowgasms
