Well, I haven't but I've been told good things about it from ppl. Cosy, not too crowded. The lower part of the "resort", a chairlift, can be seen from the motorway to the St. Bernardino pass (in fact Splugen is very near to it).
Easy to access from Italy too, just cross the border in Chiasso/Brogeda, then continue onto the motorway (it's a toll one, as all Swiss motorways one need the yearly "vignette") to Bellinzona, take the motorway to the St. Bernardino pass and you're there.
As said in other discussions, it's very near to Made (as the crow flies) although the road tying the two is closed during the winter time...

I've driven by there a few times, looks pretty small. You can tour over the Splugen Pass from the Italian side and ski down to their lifts I think. As Nobody said, the pass is closed in winter.
There's long been talk about linking Madesimo and Splugen; the town of Montespluga on the Italian side is just before the peak of the pass (nice town, some good restaurants there). I would guess Passo san Bernardino has better skiing than Splugen, if you're looking for a small, quaint kind of hill in the area.

It probably makes the most sense just to ski Laax, Obersaxen, Disentis and Vals (all within 30 min), but when I look at the map I can't help noticing that an extra hour in the car gets us to Klosters, Lenzerheide, Arosa and Splügen.
Still a month and a half to go with nothing better to do than ponding such questions.
Just Laax, Obersaxen, Disentis and Vals? Someone is getting a bit greedy there.

I heard good things about off-piste in Disentis recently. Basically, all routes lead home. Looking at their trail map, it's easy to see why.
If you go to Laax, you have to take a picture of yourself standing outside the Crap Bar. I know it's cheesy, but I think it's a legal requirement of all English-speaking visitors to do that photo.

If you go to Laax or Lenzerheide, let the Ursus Alpinis pack know. Maybe we could do a meet-up.

The Eurasian brown bear is Ursus arctos arctos, don't think there's an actual Alpine bear subspecies, so I improvised.
Think the entire population of the Ursus Alpinis, or Bears of the Alps, group is about five of us here on Epic.

Ah, I'll be in Made thru Jan 6 or so, so no meetup then. However, I am planning to ski several days with a guide at Andermatt and/or Engelberg this season, so let's keep in touch.
