Manufactuer's tune/grind advise

I picked up a bunch of skis from a USA "Indie" manufacturer. I was in a hurry, so I picked up the skis before they were stone ground. In other words, these skis are "hot" off the press. I need to have someone stone grind these skis, and place an initial tune on them. They will be skied in the wasatch, and I want them to be very fast.
1) Where to go in the Park City area to have this done.
2) What do I tell the tech?

Why don't you contact the Indy manufacturers and beg for mercy?
I'm not sure what a shop is going to charge you, but it's probably getting near $100 if you're talking about finishing a rough ski. Most probably won't want to deal with it, though you might be able to get one of the techs to help you out during a slow time.

Other possibility:

If these skis are "hot" (off the presses) then hopefully no reputable shop will touch them.  If they are legitimately obtained then good luck with them.

Define "hot "

Fresh is hot and stolen is hot . Assuming you mean fresh and picked up before finished then you got no problems but  you better get with it because all the best tuners are all working on racing skis about now.

Who's got the hook up for Canyons ?  Tip the tech with whatever you feel is appropriate if you can get a quiet one on one with him.

Are those really the nicest machines in UT?

Make sure whoever tunes these things has a clue and knows they haven't been finished by the manufacturer.  Unfinished skis can do a lot of damage to a stone.

Tell them to use the base structure coarseness and edge angles that best suit your skiing preference and your local conditions.  Who cares what the manufacturer usually puts on the skis they ship when every skier is different and every area of the country has different snow conditions?

Spindrift thanks. I forgot about that thread. Peruvian is the shit. Also, looking to JP at Coles. He sure can tune a race ski,. Even though these babies are 112 underfoot, I'm looking for a race room tune.

He belives tuning is smoke and mirrors and will accuse of propagating evil tuning folk lore!

He owned World Cup Skier Service here in Bellevue for years and tuned the majority of the ski racers equipment here in the Seattle area. Ask him who should work on your skis.  Tell him Cliffy (from Bellevue) told you to get in touch with him .
