Zonker, There are a few threads on this site and on TGR's site about mounting position dating back to '05 and as recent as '08 (for the 07/08 model). Do a search and you should find more than you need, unless you have the 08/09 model, as I do.

So, for others out there, have there been any mounting issues with the 08/09 Mantra's? Bought a pair of 177's at cost at the end of last year and have yet to buy/mount bindings for them. Is the confusion of previous year's models a moot point on the 08/09's?

Second question: best binding for 177's? I ski Big Sky once/year for about 7 days and am otherwise stuck in North Carolina, which doesn't really count in my book. At BS I stay in bounds and warm up and warm down on the groomers and otherwise ski off the tram and challenger lifts much of the day. Demo'd the 177's and loved them last year in the pow and crud off the top.

I'm getting older (42) and can only log a few days a year at this point (until my kids get old enough for more trips west). I'm 5'10" and 175 and a strong skier. Any suggestions on a binding setup (model plus mounting point if at issue) would be much obliged, y'all. (I know some of you may question my length choice but the 177's felt better than the 184's during my demo).

Forward mark for park and rear mark for 'all-mountain' per  Volk Skis Undertanding Alignment on your ski
