Discount Lift Ticket Availability in Colorado

I'm taking the family to Colorado (staying in Keystone/Copper Mountain area) during the Christmas holidays.  I haven't skied Colorado for a long time, but I seem to recall that whenever I was there varous places (ski shops, stores, condo complexes) sold discount lift tickets in one form or another.  With 6 of us skiing 6 days, lift tickets will be quite an expense.  Does anyone know the inside scoop on discounted lift tickets for the ski resorts in the area where we're going (including whether they can be had in Denver before driving up into the mountains)?  Thanks.

The discounted ticket deals at the stores and shops in Summit County are nothing like what they used to be in the past.  A slight savings at a three or more day ticket, but not much.  A local may know what the current deals are down in Denver.

If you are not committed to skiing a specific ski area yet, Loveland is still selling their four-packs at $119 until 11/22/09 on their website.  That could save your group a grand and they should have good skiing at that time and not too far from Dillon/Frisco area.

If you are skiing 6 days, the season pass will be the best way to go.  You can buy online, but you have to purchase by 11/15.

Face it, you're coming at the busiest time of the year. They aren't going to be giving out deals for you. Even the local coupons, 2 for 1s etc are not valid during the holidays.  Besides Loveland 4-packs I'd say the Basin bonus pass is your best deal:

If your up for A-basin, there is the Arapahoe Basin 6-pack coupons floating around. $51 per adult $19 for kids 6-14, 15% off food & Beverage. If you need a few say the word & will spend the price of a stamp on you!

Check out Craigslist.org in Denver as well as ebay. I managed to hustle up 4 days of sking for 7 people at the following resorts Copper Mountain (1 day)  Arapahoe Basin (1 day) & Loveland (2 days) for just $125.00 per person.

             Think  we can dig up some Copper discounts, Loveland & WinterPark also ez to be had. No such thing as a discount for the Vail resorts that we know of.

If you have an Amex card, the Membership Rewards program has tickets available to Copper, Steamboat, WP, Keystone, Breck, Vail, and Beaver Creek. It's a pretty good deal, too, as usually the rewards come at a 1:100 $:point ratio (ie, a $50 gift card costs 5,000 pts), and the lift tickets are in the 7,000-8,000 pt range. This is really the only way I've ever gotten a Vail ticket for a discount.

Frontier has some 2-for-1 lift ticket deal with Copper, and Copper also has some lodging discounts and kids-ski-free deals. http://www.coppercolorado.com/plan_and_buy/deals/index.htm

If you will forgo Copper, the ABasin bonus pass is a way to go, if you're skiing 6 days. It's $359 for adults, you do not have to buy in person, and it gives you 5 days at Breck or Keystone as well (one of which can be used at Vail or BC, but not the week after Christmas). Then, if you need something to do on spring break or Memorial Day weekend, you can still ski ABasin for free. :-)
