Why was orange decided to be called orange ? And which color was named first, orange or green ? as you can't get to orange without going thru green.
the sky is blue because white light from the sun is refracted by particles in our atmosphere light would actually be violet if it wasnt for the shortest wave lengths getting absorbed by gas and small particles, the end results is the next shortest wave length of light(blue) gets reflected and scattered from the particle making our sky turn blue. Ever notice how the sky is paler as you look closer to the horizon? Its because it get more scattered the further away from you it get and thus the color duller.
What came first the chicken or the egg? Being a darwinist there is no answer to your question. I pose this question, at what point do we call it a organism known to us as a chicken? If your a creationist though the answer could be either.
lastly why is called orange is actually the most difficult to answer.but there is still an answer to this question. Simply put it is actually named after the fruit orange. So a orange(color) is orange rather than a orange is orange(color). first time it ever appeared in print was 1542. FYI you part about not being able to get to orange with out going though green is simply wrong. the word green is undateably older than the word orange and comes from a german root meaning to grow
groeni is the old german word.
