Poles, poles, poles

Epic community-

any suggestions on a good pair of poles that will come at a fair price?  This is typically a piece of gear I almost never think about, but I will say, however, that I'm sick of taking a tumble and then realizing my pole has a nice 160 degree bend in it when I whiff my next plant.

I'm looking for something, no surprises here, that's light and strong, but reasonably priced.  I mean, come on, their poles.

1. Take $20 out of the bank
2. Go to a ski swap
3. Buy four or five pairs of poles
4. Keep spares in your car
5. Learn to pole plant without using the pole to hold up your weight

The heaviness of the complexity fuels the force behind the dart that hits the mark.

I think his problem is related to landing on the pole when falling. So we need to add:

6: Don't fall down.

If you can't ski, do tricks!

There's an old adage that goes something like, "If you don't take a spill from time to time, you're not challenging yourself enough!"  Exceptions are: a 45 degree slope, into a rock, or off a cliff.

The ski swap suggestion is as good as any.  Trouble is, the swaps here in Chicago are typically full of junk.  Junk = heavy poles that bend easily, or are already bent.  Sweet!

In the meantime, anyone else interested in making a suggestion for something new?
