Columbia Popup Ad

That won't go away until it is done doing it's thing. If i mouse-over the "X Close" button my cursor changes to the hand, but clicking has no effect.


AdBlock is about to make a re-appearance.

And refreshing the page launches the whole ad on a new tab.

I just got molested/violated by it again.  I've never owned a Columbia jacket.  After this I'll never try one on either.
I'd rather be skiing

The Columbia ad just popped me in the face too. I can handle all the ads in the borders but a pop up that covers content is too much . I'll not buy Columbia products now.

I'm noticing it more and more, on both the computers I use.

I had the safecount survey pop up in my face and screw up a post i was trying to type earlier...

How often per day are you seeing this ad? Thanks for your feedback. We can control this to some extent.

I believe I have seen it 2x today, but I have only been visiting the site sporadically since 3pm (it is now 10:12). If i had to guess I would say I have checked in here 5 or 6 times today...

I'm on all day long and I haven't seen the ad in a while.

We're planning on implementing a solution for Supporters -- the option to view the site without ads -- but I'm not sure when that will be.

Interesting, I'll watch how many times i am on today and see what happens. I'd bet you have a greater chance of seeing it if you close your browser and come back multiple times as opposed to keeping the site open. I have the Columbia banner at right now, but so far no popup. I seem to get it more when I have epicski open in one tab that I am not viewing and then return to it after some time.

I think I like the no-ad supporter option, but how does that work for Sponsors/Insiders who are paying for ad space?

I've been seeing it a couple times a day for the last 2-3 days, but I am on 2 different computers throughout the day. They might have a cookie limiting it to once per day per user (computer). I wasn't paying specific attention to that so I'm not sure though. Once it is there it is persistent until the animation is done.

Kyle, Sponsors/Insiders would still be able to display signature files--and if they're offering special deals to Supporters, you know we'll promote that.
