Minimum weight for SL11

Both my boys are great little racers, but very light.

I have thought of taping rolls of pennies to their ankles but decided against it.

This year I have moved my oldest (60 lbs) up to SL11s.  He was on them once last year and complained that he could not turn. I took him off them with the idea that he would start from the beginning this year and learn how to ski this ski.

I am now worrying that he just might be too light.

Is there a minimum, or if he is good he should be able to bend the ski and make it work?

Skill level is the most important factor, but there are still some limits.  Another 15-20 lbs would help with the SL11.

I don't know the age of your youngster, but 60 lbs is in the range of a lot of the Nancy Greene kids I've worked with (8 to 10 years).  I wouldn't want to see a NG racer on SL11s.  Save them for K1.

I'd say 100 lbs would be minimum.
