Photochromatic ski goggles

I am interested in feedback from people who have used the Zeal or Bolle or any other goggle with a lens that reacts to sunlight.  How well do they work.  Are they dark enough for sunny days and light enough for flat light.

I am also interested in the Panoptx / 7eye products.  I have heard great things about them but are they warm enough and are they comfortable under a helmet.

Thanks in advance - pbartski

I have been using some photo chromatic Bolles for a couple of years.  I ski alot of high altitude and have never found them to be not dark enough, and I have sensitive eyes.  I would recommend them. Unfortunately, I bought mine on line and they turned out to be a small size, which was not how they were represented, but I put a longer strap on from an old pair of goggles and they work fine.  I use a straight yellow lens for storm days because I like the color better in flat light.

I agree with mudfoot about the Bolles. Mine were plenty dark for bluebird days in the Alps, and light enough at the end of the day or when the clouds rolled in. But, they were not quite light enough for me in a storm, though almost.

I bought a pair of HI Yellow Oakleys for those occasions when it starts dumping while I'm on the hill.

Hey, you wanna see me do something stupid?
