Upgrade from K2 Apache Sabre skis to what?

I started skiing about two years ago and, after using mediocre rent-a-skis at resorts, purchased a pair of K2 Apache Sabre skis to learn on.  They were a great pair of skis for a beginner and I can now ski any and all groomed intermediate slopes like they're nothing.  The beginner runs have become boring and I'm looking to upgrade.  Here are my reasons:

(a) Sabres sink like rocks in any kind of powder.  I accidentally went on a few ungroomed slopes and found myself either completely stopped waist deep in the snow or struggling to stay on top.  Is the Sabre's thin waist, with 119/72/103 dimensions, to blame for this?  Needless to say, it'd be nice to have some skis that can handle powder.  Then maybe then I can finally go off piste a little.  :)

(b) Sabres are really great at nice, long, slow turns.  However, in ungroomed moguls where one must make sharp turns rather quickly and requires some level of agility, they don't perform well at all.  They have very little flex and I'm thinking this may be playing a role?

So, being that I'm an intermediate skier working on becoming an expert, what skis should I go to?  Should I be looking at skis with a wider waist for powder?  What should I look for in skis for those agile turns on the moguls?  Any recommendations?

I was looking at K2 Hardside, Nordica Enforcer, Volkl Mantra, and Elan Pogo Sticks off-piste skis, along with all-mountains skis like the Rossignol S5 Jago.  Thoughts, or am I completely off track here?

THANKS!

Need a little more information.

Where do you ski?  What's your height and weight?

That said, yes, the Sabres aren't going to just go in powder -- but new equipment alone won't solve the problem.  Powder requires technique adjustments.

OK....second things first.

B) The Sabre is a very soft and easy turning ski. If you think they are stiff and hard to turn, you don't need new skis, you need lessons.

Third thing second..............

Sure, a wider waist will help in deep snow but will be more cumbersome than what you have in moguls so the two needs are contradictory for your level of skier. Take your choice as to what you want to improve on.

First thing last.......................

A) Yes the narrow waist won't help you in powder but it doesn't really sound like you are ready for powder yet anyway. You need lessons.

So......if you want new skis fine, but don't buy one from this list. All these will float better in deep snow assuming you have the skills to tackle those conditions in the first place. However, they will generally be worse than what you have at most everything else.

You have a long way to go before you need skis like the ones you mentioned.

Coincidentally, I designed the FlackSkis.  They include lots of PR and no substance, and spam threads randomly.  I have been a douchebag since age 10.

I don't think they're hard to turn at all except when I'm trying to make very sharp and quick turns.  Going down any intermediate slope is absolute cake, whether I want to go fast or slow.  Maybe I need new boots first?  They're a bit loose and I have to adjust my feet a little before I attempt a hard turn.  What do you think?

Alrighty... I learned to ski in northern AZ and the lessons focused on groomed areas. I guess when I go to Colorado this February I'll take some powder lessons then.
