Elan ELX 14 Bindings

Does anyone have knowledge/experience with the Elan ELX 14 bindings?  These are not the Fusion bindings from the integrated system, but the 2009 model regular bindings to be mounted on flat skis.  I am not familiar with them and wanted to know how people felt these compared in quality, durability and performance with some of the Tyrolia/Head, Look/Dynastar and Marker bindings I am more familiar with.  Any input would be appreciated.

They're basically Tyrolia Peaks/Head Mojos aren't they? Elan bindings are all Tyrolia anyway.....

Assuming they're the ones shown here:

... they are, in fact, structurally similar to the Mojo/Peak 15.  Judging from naming conventions, they probably have a 4-14 DIN range, rather than 5-15.  But assuming that you're not at the high end of the DIN scale, the important feature is that they use the Tyrolia "Aero" toe, which is Tyrolia's heavy duty version (and with some materials changes, is the toe used in their race bindings).

Well there you go! They're made by Tyrolia. LD toe with ABS and diagonal release. Looks like the non-diagonal heel, but its a bit tricky to see from the photos.  Personally I prefer the diagonal heel, but opinions vary.

So they look like a cross between LD12s and Mojo15s with 14DIN springs. And I'd use them with no qualms.

I agree - I checked several catalogues (and 11 various pairs of Tyrolia/Head/Fischer bindings in the basement)  before deciding that it looked "most" like an LD toe (which I have on Tyrolia RFII LD12s and, as you noted, Head FF+ 14s). It may even be an Elan specific housing (like e.g. the "SL Head" toe on Head LD12s - is that really an LD or an SL under the hood?).

No need to split hairs though - we agree its a decent binding!

Thanks for your identification help.  Heel is definitely not diagonal.
