Hey you guys,
im looking at going to college overseas in Oz! my big colleges that im looking at are Australian National University and University of Queensland. I understand that inter-collegate athletic programs are not like those in america. The only real competition that ive really heard of is the Australian University Games and among those they have events for snowsports.
ive checked the university websites and athletic boards for the universities but couldn't find out where i can sign up/tryout for the ski team. am i supposed to get invited to tryout or is there a connection that i need to get? if anyone who has competed at the college level in Australia could give me some advice that would be great!

You are probably better asking this at ski.com.au, but AFIK, uni week is at the end of July and is the only semi-serious ski racing week.  Melbourne University has a fairly active ski club at Mr Buller in Victoria.

If you are at the University of Queensland, you'll be a long was from the snow (think Florida), but close to some pretty good surf beaches.  ANU is better, being in Canberra and only a 2-3 hour drive from Perisher and Thredbo, which provide reasonable skiing.
