Just in from the folks who are hosting our ESA AspenSnowmass group regarding discount rentals for the camp:

Quote:
Snowmass Sports, located on the 3rd floor of the Silvertree Hotel (next door to the Wildwood Lodge), with a larger shop right off the elevator on M1 steps from the Mountain, is offering 30% off for all attending ESA for advanced ski rental sign ups.  Here is how you can book for rentals for the camp:

Go to www.snowmasssports.com
Left side bar - scroll down to groups
Group Name: epic ski
Password: Jan10
This takes you to the package pricing, you just need to click on Start Rental and then just fill in the blanks.

As soon as you are done, an email will be sent to confirm the booking.  Please print it up to give to the guys at the shop when you show up to get your skis.

I was looking at airline baggage fees and I wonder if I'm better off renting with this deal than toting my skis around the airport.   Hmmmm....

The problem with that plan, Tricia, is that you'll wind up saving the baggage fees only one way.

Ok, you can save the fees both ways, and have the shop UPS them back to Michigan.

I was looking forward to watching this little battle.  However, it looks as if Mike is already trying to gracefully back down and does not want any part of TC.

Yep, me be a chicken.  Actually, I just went to the Snowmass Sports site to attempt to see what they might have that Tricia doesn't.  Unfortunately, the site doesn't provide a lot of information about the options she will have for skis to be shipped back to Michigan.  That's a good thing, 'cuz otherwise she might anticipate her purchase options and stimulate the economy before arriving.

Shipping rates must have gone down. I just sent a pair from CO to WA parcel post for less than $20.

I Wuz thinkin'..........(do I hear all of you saying "uh oh"?)

I could buy skis, have them shipped to Aspen, sell them after the event and be money ahead, considering travel fees and/or rental, eh?

Ragin, you clearly missed the horse tradin' that happened at Big Sky ESA.....
I think there were at least 4 people who did not go home with the same,(or same amount) of skis they came with.
