Just wanted to get some opinions on if it is necessary to remove ski bindings prior to hotboxing. The concern I have heard is that you can melt/liquify the grease out of your bindings which of course would not be good. Assuming a hotbox temp of 125 to 135 degrees F, will it really melt the grease out of the bindings? Are there any other concerns with leaving the bindings on during hotboxing?
I only hotbox the skis once a season or after a base grind, but with 3 racers in the house it takes a lot of time to remove and replace all those bindings.
I doubt if there is much benefit to hotboxing more than 1x season since the skis are being hot waxed a couple times/wk during the racing season.
Any advice?
