Looking for that perfect helmet for Oscar & Felix ...

So I've got two tweens that are the 'Oscar & Felix' of skiing.  One is into gates, the other into freestyle - both USSA programs.  Fortunately they both delve into the other's side of the hill.

They both started in the racing program, and as a result have always had the full coverage race helmets as required.  However, as we all know those race helmets are in general way too uncool ...

I'm sure there are many good reasons why USSA mandates the full coverage helmets for racing, but ... c'mon!  We didn't even HAVE helmets when I was a kid, and I turned out just fine, I think, wait, did I, who said that?

Anyway, what I'm looking for is the holy grail of ski helmets - a cool looking full coverage race helmet.  I thought I found it in the Smith Upstart Junior, but they only come in sizes up to a youth medium, and my boys are in adult size helmets already.

As parents we know all too well that I can't just buy an open ear helmet for the bumper, and a full helmet for the racer because I'll end up buying one of each style for both of them (not).

So, does anyone know of any helmets that would pass the full coverage and tween cool tests?

Thanks,

Tall order to fill, as among other things they need to fit their head shapes, right? Most race helmets are so "racey", that the freestyler is going to run away. The new Shred helmets come in some limited, but cool colors. But they are full on race. My best recommendation would be a Giro. When Daron Rahlves was wearing one, along with Ligety {back then pre-Shred}, I remember comment such as "when did DR start rocking the freeride helmet?"  They are great helmets, but not a classic race look. They also fit a ton of head shapes. My wife has one, and my daughter {a serious high level racer} will steal it to free ski. I would check Reliable Racing's site for a look at them. All that I can really think of. No on Carrera, Marker, Uvex, Apina, POC, Dainesse, etc. Might need to get exactly what each wants and try to draw the line {good luck with that!}.  No race helmets made by the freeride side.
