Blizzard 8.1 vs 7.6 - What is Best For East Coast

Want to purchase either the Blizzard 8.1 or 7.6 primarily for East Coast for several guys in my group.  Advanced to expert skiers, varying heights, all in good shape who ride hard and fast - no moguls.  Looking to hit the whole mountain - Can someone tell me if the 8.1 offer any advantage over the 7.6.  Thanks.

Forgot to ask whether there is a true difference in the 2009 vs 2010 models other than the wider binding in the 2010.  Thanks.

The only advantage of the 7.6s for the east coast is that they are a bit more narrow. Other than that the 8.1 have a metal layer and sidewall construction which should both give better edge hold on ice and be more suitable for "hard and fast". Unless someone is very light, i.e., under 110 lbs, I would not consider the 7.6s for anyone beyond a low intermediate. I don't know about the 2009s.

Other than the wider binding track.............no. Nothing substantial.
