As far as a 'vacant trail', if it is open to the public there is no guarantee that it will remain vacant. People choose to go to the park and their are warnings; they don't choose to be in a speed trap when they go down an open blue.

Yes, lets agree to disagree.  It is by exploring our disagreements that we learn to expand our minds.

I will agree however that if you can't control your direction well enough to go around a few skiers on an otherwise wide open trail, you shouldn't be skiing that fast.  That's skiing out of control.  I do not approve of skiing out of control. 

BTW,  I can usually get up more speed on the blacks than on the blues.

Boa at The Canyons.  Not terribly steep, but a very nice wide blue.  I have never skied it with many people on it.  Last year around Christmas my friend's family and mine were the about the only people on the run.  At the end he turned to me and said, "I think I reached terminal velocity."
