Pitiful Whimpering - Need to Ski!

This is a public cry of frustration.  It snowed this week where I live, and the nearby mountaintops remain snow-covered.  I feel like a dog at a barbecue.  I sit at my computer pinballing from epic to tgr to skidiva, to noaa, back to epic.  I wake up wondering which of my skis I'll use first, how my knees will feel after the first day, whether I'll manage to buy new boots this season...  I am wasting so much time, it's driving me crazy.  Alas, I don't feel any better since writing this, but misery does love company, so please feel free to share your joneses here.

I'm with ya! I'm in Denver, the Bronco's have a bye week so I have no distraction, AND IT'S SNOWING!

So I decided to wander around on the internet for a while and immediately went to Epic to see "what's up".

Momma and I have our passes, the boy is in the 5th grade so he is free this year at all the resorts (great program!), and not ten minutes ago, she walked in and opened the blinds with a grin and there it is... snow is coming down.

A-Basin and Loveland only have a couple of runs open, so it would be crowded groomed runs, looking like ants covering candy, but hey, what the heck.

Well, I am an a beginner but you're lucky you have anything open at all! I have to wait a month and a half until ANYTHING opens anywhere near DC. Not only that but I still have to take various exams, do multiple labs.. In short, I want to go back to working instead of studying.

Also, I feel much like Altanaut, " I am wasting so much time, it's driving me crazy." Can't concentrate on anything except how much I want to get back out on the slopes.

The minor fall and the major lift..

Hey Wallee & Hmpph - thanks for chiming in.  I was starting to feel like my post was too stupid/unoriginal/boring for anyone to respond to.  Okay, maybe I was being a bit paranoid.

Here's to lots of time on the snow this season!

umm hike. the amount of time spent complaining on here could of gotten you up one of your local mountains to ski.

Curious when was LAST day skiing last year?

If it makes you feel any better, it was dust on crust up our way yesterday. Hardly worth going.

Mr. Bushwalker, you make a very valid point but my situation is not quite so simple.  I'm in New Mexico.  My boots, skis, skins & ski clothes are in Utah (in storage, no less.)  Perhaps my real downfall is that the thought of renting boots makes me go "eeeeeewwwww."  So you see, complaining is all I can do right now.

And to answer your question, I skied until mid-April last season.  It's clearly been too long.

get touring gear and ski till the snow is gone, then MTB untill the ground is 100 percent covered with snow again!

ski season Januray to June and MTB season is July to December.
