I am looking to getting some ski boots for my girlfriend. I am a snowboarder so while i was doing some research I came across some dalbellos with the ski/walk mechanism. This really interested me because she has always had trouble walking in her boots. I was wandering if anyone had any experience with these boots and would be able to tell me if this feature is actually helpful or not so much. All responses are welcome! Thanks!

Take a look at a scarpa tornado.  It is an AT boot with a hard rubber, yet DIN rated alpine sole, and a walk mechanism which works much better than most.  Only boot I use for AT or lift serviced skiing.

Shaggy,

I have Dalbellos with ski/walking switch. The difference is so subtle, I rarely bother.
Before walking long distances, I normally just loosen the top buckles.

Unfortunately, I doubt that she will benefit from this feature, besides, it's probably better that her priority is the final fit rather than her ability to walk.
