Racetiger RC vs. Progessor 9+

 Hi there,

I'm new here and appreciate your expertise, I have a question for my boyfriend.

Skier info: 5'8", 200lbs, advanced skier, east coast/upper midwest, likes to ski intermediates and advanced, steep runs at higher speeds, no moguls, no tree skiing, maybe a rare trip out west, but mostly groomed and hard pack.

Assuming the same price:
Which would you pick, I'm looking at Fischer 175 Progressor 9+ with the 4-13 din tyrolias on a demo track vs. the Volkl Racetiger RC 173 with the marker piston 12s drilled for my boot? The fischers are one year old demos but in really, really good condition. And the Volkls are two years old but new, never drilled.

If it matters I tend to keep my skis for a very long time. I owned the last pair for 9 years and I only own one pair at a time. Thank you very much for your input. I look forward to hearing from you.

Too bad you can't try them. You will get so many different opinions it will be hard to make a decision based on the input of others. Opinions are like, well you know, everyone has one. I have never been on the Volkl's but have been on the 9. I didn't care for it -- too much of a one-trick pony GS feel and I like quick turning slalom-type cuts. Short turns were too much work. You mentioned you like to go fast -- the 9 will accomodate.
