I am so fortunate that I can get a got deal on both skis.
I have read good things about both. Off course I could just buy either and (hopefully) be happy ever after. I would like to hear from more experienced people than my self, however, before i buy.
About me. I ski tele, app 175 pounds, ca 6 feet. age 35.
Am very fit pro physical trainer (Run 3500 meters in a Coopers test, can push 450 punds w each leg in seated leg press (straight to 90 deg to straight leg). max out app 1400 watts in a Wingate. dont know if this makes sense.)
Ski agressively, like to carve fast on hardpack w Stockli Laser GS 186cm (now that is a ski! - everybody do yourself a favor a try it). Am not a skidding/short turning telemarker. Not as brave as when 20.
Ski in the Alps (mixed conditions) and in Norway.
Have skied Black diamond Verdict - or was it Havoc, that i found to be easy in powder, bad in soft moguls, useless on hardpack, and without "fun factor", lenght 188 ish.
Own the 05/06 race factory legend pro in 192 cm. w rottefella r8.
Lovely ski on the slopes, I really like this ski. However it wears me out off piste, wants to straighline all the time. If I spend more time on skis, and more time getting to know the areas, I think it would be a marvel to ski. I have mnounted it behind center, and will re mount forward if I do not sell. SO this LP is regretably too bad for me. Maybe in 184? I dunno. (would still be very heavy for BC use) Skis like the Laser, but thats too much in the off piste.
Ive skied the Stockli xxl 178, and really liked it. Its a little bit to heavy to take BC, and to narrow in the waist for surfing. But a great ski it is. Easy, turny, responsive, stable. Would like to own one for the days when its too soft for the Laser or with too many people on the slopes + a little offpiste
Would like the DP pro, but the one I can get a deal on is 193cm and too similar to the LP i fear.
Oh back to the subject. Even though I do prefer to surf the turns, I know I need somthing more responsive, easyer, faster initiating etc in the Off piste. Plan to mount with NTN bindings
So Nomaad or Gotama, and what about the Shaman? pros and cons etc
Thank you very much gentlemen
Peter
