Warmest thin sock?

Another Name for the Tecnica Plugs are Tecnica Diablo Race R........I got mine from Peak Performance in Vermont.....via phone order. A shout out goes to those guys at Peak I got them in the off season. I was able to contact the owner after hours on his mobile and he went above and beyond to help me with a few questions and measurements. They are not consumer models. H13 is roughly a 140 Flex, and H17s are a 150 flex. My Plugs are softened......The 95 mm last is what I was after......but I do enjoy those buckles that tecnica puts on theses boots........they never come unlatched.

As to the sole length of these boots. My Nordica Supercharger Blowers are a 25.5 measure out to a 295 mm. My Tecnica Race Rs are also a 25.5 and measure out to 294 mm. Hope that helps if need be. Also the Race R is non-din compatible and must be ground to fit a standard din binding.

Also the Alto H13, 17, and 24 have always been a race department only product, so it does not show up in consumer information. From the outside it looks just like a Diablo Race Pro 130/110/90. Inside it has dimensions closer to 95mm race boots and comes with the same cork/oil lace up as the Dobe except that it is orange instead of black. As a bootfitter, the Alto Race H has fairly short sole length by size. I believe that the 26 shell or 7Uk is a 302, the 27 or 8UK is 311, etc. and as SJ said the toe box is roomier in height and width.

Jim, appreciate all the info. Are these boots avaiable to mere mortals? By the way, my XT's are marked as a 7.5 with a 303mm sole. That is two sizes down from my street size, and perfect. Sounds rather like the 7/302 in the Race H, or perhaps even a bit shorter ratio.
Good to hear that the heater install can be modded as well.

Ole703, thanks for that. I know these guys - got the Dobie liners from them. If you remeber, let me know how you like your new boots. Perhaps they can tell me whether the XT is a 95mm or not.

Ah socks. I recently bought the Burton Ultralights, they're quite thin, haven't had a chance to try them on the slopes.

I've never been skiing in Maine, so I have no idea how cold 'cold' really is. But I guess you're looking at temps close to Colorado. My secret is to warm up the boots before putting them on, sticking them under the car heat vents, and then I'm usually good to go. I also don't undo them or take them off while resting, so I don't have to put on cold wet boots halfway through the day.
